I could always make a bad situation worst or say the right thing to make it right but I believe the time we decided to depart there was nothing for me to say, he made it clear that I hurt him. I think he never realized how much he'd hurt me over the years. I guess what I'm trying to say is I should have been left once I sensed things weren't the same between us but I just couldn't the urging for nostalgia wouldn't let meleave no matter how many times I said it. Every time he hurt me I wish I could walk out of love but I didn"t know which door I came in. Now I know that it's time to close that door because there's no need for me to want to save a relationship that he doesn't want to save.Leighton♥http://www.blogger.com/profile/15579705678811399960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3344432793645017744.post-51101142607647873622012-09-18T15:37:00.001-07:002012-09-18T15:37:26.344-07:00Through Distance and TimeSo sitting here listening to Mariah Carey's "Never Too Far Away" and thought about the guy that I loved most in my life and to know that we are were we are hurts me so bad. I guess the fact that we both call ourselves moving on means nothing because the way we feel about each other is still the same. I don't know why I can't shake him or my feelings about him. I ean it's clear that we both want to move on but can't. I'm thinking though maybe I don't want to be with him as a couple I just lon for want we had and I know that I'll never feel that way or experience love with him again. As the tears roll down my cheek and I take in the words of Rihanna's "Million Miles Away" I realize that what we once shared is gone. It seems like the last year of my relationship was us holding on to good habits when we should have been letting go. I knew he broke away every time he touched me. The intimacy was gone, the passion was no longer present & the intense climax of our love making was also gone. I could never find the words to say to try and fix thngs because no matter how much we were together it felt like we were a million miles away.Leighton♥http://www.blogger.com/profile/15579705678811399960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3344432793645017744.post-22394904109148452632009-12-22T09:54:00.000-08:002009-12-22T10:11:22.584-08:00Letter to Dr.AckermanDear Dr. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Ackerman</span>,<br /><br /> I am <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Tiana</span> Brown a student at Constitution High that attends in the dual enrollment program. I am writing you this letter because I was told by the principal of my school that the dual enrollment program might be taken away from the student and I that attend my school due to the budget cuts. I feel that our school really needs and deserve to remain having the privilege to attend the dual enrollment program at <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Cheyney</span> <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Unviersity</span> for three important reasons. The first one is it gives us as the next generation of doctors, lawyers, teachers etc. the opportunity to experience college level work while still in high school. Which more prepares us for what we will be doing in college. The second reason is that we won't get another chance to take the classes that are provided to us because we are about to graduation for high school and become freshmen at colleges all across the country. The last and final reason is that as becoming adults the dual enrollment program allows the seniors to have an advantage. We attend the dual enrollment classes across the street from our original school and the fact that we have to sometimes have to go back and forth allows the adults to give us a myriad of freedom and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">responsibility</span> and that's to the dual enrollment program that we can get a chance to demonstrate how mature we really are. The book is by a journalist by the name of Greg Campbell. The book consist of 280 pages of thrills, excitements, afflictions and adventures. The book takes place in Sierra Leone. Greg Campbell writes the value of a diamond but not in money but in blood, death, and torture toward the resident of the people of Sierra Leone that live in the mining area. Campbell explains how the most precious diamonds are usually found in mining site and war zones.Leighton♥http://www.blogger.com/profile/15579705678811399960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3344432793645017744.post-16616385468068429812009-10-13T06:58:00.000-07:002009-10-13T06:59:45.347-07:006 Word Story" Me Him...Pleasure Pain...Sixty-Nine"Leighton♥http://www.blogger.com/profile/15579705678811399960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3344432793645017744.post-59562484749123318122008-06-06T07:21:00.000-07:002008-06-10T06:33:10.587-07:00Depression is not Easy*(GRADE THIS)*Have you ever known a person that is insane and sane at the same time? Well if you haven't I do. Dealing with a person with no hope insight, no dreams to conquer, and no reason for living is a excruciating pain to bare. The way I acknowledge this is by watching my dear friends. I noticed their personalities, mental illnesses, and their disturbing backgrounds.<br /><br /> The personality of a mentally or physically ill person is very confused and unaware. They're so unsure of what they are capable of. Reflecting back to the story Of Mice and Men reminds me of the time when the one of the main characters Lennie was attacked by a vicious snake named Curley. Curley constantly struck Lennie because he knew he was retarded and wanted to pick at him. Striking Lennie so repeatedly until there was blood on his face and sparked a reality check. Then once Lennie realized the situation, he grabbed Curley's hand and squeezed it so tight, then the next thing you knew Curley's hand was busted and there was blood everywhere.<br /><br /> Another incident that I can remember is about physially ill friend named Bigger Thomas. Being that Bigger was a minority in the environment which he lived in, He didn't have as much opportunities as the majority. The fact that he is physically ill, he picks on his friends to boost his ego and makes him feel better about himself. Another example that really makes him physical illness noticable to everybody, was when Bigger wanted to commit a robbery but I was scared as hell when he asked me, so I said I didn't want to but he tried to best my up because I said know.Leighton♥http://www.blogger.com/profile/15579705678811399960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3344432793645017744.post-22698747708778593742008-05-27T11:07:00.000-07:002008-06-05T11:48:13.757-07:00Narrative Jawn<div style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204); font-weight: bold;font-family:georgia;" >Writing Obejective:</span><br /><span style="color: rgb(204, 51, 204);font-family:georgia;" >Write what would be your final sentence if it was your last day on earth. I sweep the street, my neighbors steps and pick up the trash. I perform this service every Saturday morning. I have dedicated myself and time to trying to make my community a better place to because I'd rather make an effort to make my neighborhood better than to just complain. I will have the block Shinera Yeiser give a letter and signature to prove that I service 10 hours of cleaning on my block.<br /><br />Performing Service Learning has changed me in many ways. It's shows me how to much being a good citizens is worth. I get the opportunity to learn discipline, responsibility and active citizenship. I've made the choice to take service learning not an option but a priority. Service Learning has showed me a way to change the world and make it a better place no matter how small of the service. This is proven because of the cleaning services that I provide allows the seniors on my block the chance to step on a clean step without having to worry about trash on their step and everywhere else on the block.Leighton♥http://www.blogger.com/profile/15579705678811399960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3344432793645017744.post-31616445738520139662008-05-19T12:03:00.003-07:002008-05-19T12:03:48.273-07:00Service Learning part ll<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Next Meeting<br /></span>We came up with a stable idea for our service learning project we're going to start a school store. I hate that African american are self destructing our people. I believe this is why I wasn't interestes in the book "Native Son."<br /><br /> Although the book describes violent and personally relative the writer didn't write it descriptively enough for my liking. The fact that they didn'tuse hooks or vocabulary that would engage my interest. There was nothing really for me to hold onto ecept for the fact another African American male is being individualized. After awhile, the book just became a class assignment and was not something I wanted to do.<br /><br />To go along with the the boring outline, I didn't agree with the way the author potrayed African Americans. In the book, the African American boy was a low class, proverty living killer. Every African American was imaged as a poor soul. All African Americans living in the city act the way he described.<br /><br />Once again, I don't think this novel is written for someone like me and if you are like me. Which is the type of person that thinks highly of all my culture no matter what than I don't reccommend that you read this book. Not just because of the individualization but because of form that stereotypes African Americans.Leighton♥http://www.blogger.com/profile/15579705678811399960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3344432793645017744.post-63777314529508717622008-05-09T06:08:00.000-07:002008-06-03T09:46:21.903-07:00Bloom's Taxonomy Questions for Of Mice and Men1. How is Lenny and Crooks similar?<br /><br />Lenny and Crooks are similar because they both are disabling. Though Lenny is mentally disable because of his retardation. He's physical appearance is strong. Crooks is physically disable because of his hunched back. Also Crooks is emotionally disabled because of the loneliness that he feels because he’s the only black guy out of the group.<br /><br />2. What are some of the problem that George has?<br /><br />George’s main problems are Lenny and that fact that he doesn’t leave the American dream. The reason why Lenny is a problem because for one he is retarded and two he can’t remember anything except for what George says about the bunnies. The other problem is George not have the American dream he is an average ranch worker and he’s not satisfied living that life.<br /><br />3. Why do you think that Curley's Wife was such a whore?<br /><br />I personally don't think that she was a whore I think that she was just very lonely because of tha fact that Curley treated her like trash also because of the lies that were promised to her that never happened. Though she was very seductive that's only because she wanted some male attention just like any other women.<br /><br /><br />4. Do you think that the incident between Curley's wife and Lennie could have happened today in the city?<br /><br />Yes I think that could have happened. Look at it like this Lennie got a taste of something soft that he liked and didn't want to stop touching it not even when Curley's wife told him to stop. In today's life woman use their bodies all the time and men use their penis to fall for the vicious and deceitful lies that the women tell them.<br /><br />5. Why did George's feelings change about Lennie after the incident with Curley's wife?<br /><br />George's feeling changed about Lennie because he was becoming a hand full. Lennie started to get more out of control between the murder of the mouse, the dog and Curley's wife. George felt that Lennie would be better off dead and that if was going to be put to death for the murder of Curley's wife then he wanted to be the one to lay him at his finally resting place.<br /><br /><br />6. What was the problems between Curley and Lennie?<br /><br />The problem was that Curley was jealous of Lennie because of the attention that Curley's flirty wife gave to Lennie. Though Lennie didn't notice the extra attention Curley did and that forced him to attack Lennie. They got into an altercation and to make a long story short Curley goy his hand busted down to the white meat.<br /><br /><br />7. What was the turning in this story?<br /><br />The turning point was when George realized that there was no explanation for what Lennie did to the mouse, puppy or to Curley's wife. He then came to the conclusion that he could either allow Curley and the gang to kill Lennie or for him to do it hisself. So he met Lennie at the only place that he know was safe and he did what he thought was right.<br /><br />8. Was Lennie's death a signifance symbol?<br /><br />Yes, it was a symbol because when Candy allowed Carson to kill the his dog instead of him being a man about the situation and put the dog out of his misery since it was his, but he was a coward that allowed his friend to kill his friend. So George thought about that before he allowed a group of people that he barely knew to kill his weary friend. He took responsibility and made the choice to put Lennie out of his misery but only for his own good.<br /><br />9. Where did the setting take place?<br /><br />The setting took place on the ranch but the ranch wasn't just any ranch it was the ranch that ended the lives of many and changed people. At the ranch Lennie accidently killed a puppy and Curley's wife. That changed the setting because Lennie knew that he was in trouble so he went to the only place where he knew that he could be helped, the water. Which is the place that George told him to go if he was ever in trouble.<br /><br />10. What would you change about the story if you could?<br /><br />The time period I would make the story be in modern times. I would make things in a different city but the same genre. I would want the story to take place in the city of Philadelphia and I would change the scenario to women being the main characters. The main thing I want to change is the sexuality of Crookes he would a homo-sexual.Leighton♥http://www.blogger.com/profile/15579705678811399960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3344432793645017744.post-25606071366908268652008-04-25T11:12:00.000-07:002008-05-19T12:03:00.615-07:00Service Learning part llOur Second Meeting<br />We are going to creative a store that we hope with benefit all the entire school. We came up with a to breakdown our lounge idea into a survive guide for entering Constitution High. We decide that a lounge is going to be to complicated to make within the time period that we have fr service learning. So we have to think about the obstacles that e had to face last year and come up with a way to make it easier for the next group of freshmen.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;"><br /></span></span>Leighton♥http://www.blogger.com/profile/15579705678811399960noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3344432793645017744.post-58749494908728270672008-04-03T12:03:00.000-07:002008-04-10T10:05:08.939-07:00Topics to discuss in Mentoring<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:x-large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);">Peer Mediation-</span></span> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);">We will talk to our peers to help them resolve problems, teach them social skills, counseling and give them support.</span> <div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);font-size:24;" ><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:x-large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);">Tutoring-</span> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);">Teach the skills that our peers lack in.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);font-size:24;" ><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:x-large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);">Socializing-</span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);">Get to know the our younger peers in a fun way.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);font-size:24;" ><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:x-large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);">Personal Feelings-</span></span> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);">To allow our peers to feel comfortable in a safe environment and also to express themselves without being judged.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:x-large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(204, 51, 204);"><br /></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:x-large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);">Volunteer-</span></span> Go out and volunteer for example we can go to Barack Obama's campaign office and learn about the election and help out with things that need to be done.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:x-large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);">Fund Raising-</span></span> We can have a fund raiser and give the money to the school to contribute to things for example The 10th Graders Soph Hop Dance.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><br /></span></div></div>Leighton♥http://www.blogger.com/profile/15579705678811399960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3344432793645017744.post-9144959037446815682008-03-06T10:03:00.000-08:002008-03-06T10:21:03.390-08:00Service Learning IdeasFor service learning we can have a carnival at a city wide park. We can invite a few middle schools and the money we raise we can give it to a shelter. To get ready for our carnival we will visit the middle schools and give them a presentation to show the things that will be offered at the carnival to make them want to come.<div><br /></div><div>We can also go to a nursing home. While we're there we can some quality time with the patients, we can read to them, play games and watch movies with them. We can visit the nursing homes for an hour a day for 3 weeks.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Another idea is we can choose a neighborhood recreation center to fix up. We can clean it up and then have a workshop to make poster things to make the building more welcoming. We can get all the supplies and clean up for an hour a day for 3 weeks</div><div><br /></div><div>We can go around the city and have a stop the violence workshop. We can prepare for an hour a day and every week we pick a place to have the workshop.</div><div><br /></div><div>We can have a big fashion show at the Constitution Center other high schools and the money we raise for admission we can donate to a charity to help fight cancers or something like that. </div>Leighton♥http://www.blogger.com/profile/15579705678811399960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3344432793645017744.post-4696784375824047332008-03-04T12:08:00.000-08:002008-03-06T10:21:40.456-08:00Service Learning<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj74ATnX89_5L4nKTbwUxtNAbslXdPU161rTEBcL6ysECoj0dB-hZ1wIEG84k3jS0GEs1i6T0HTzGz4zbJTnZCwFkSAu6RfCL3ueesMOfJ_cdDMn0h4D8qqC6er2OSDehjRDMbUjWfikZg/s1600-h/90027758.JPG"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj74ATnX89_5L4nKTbwUxtNAbslXdPU161rTEBcL6ysECoj0dB-hZ1wIEG84k3jS0GEs1i6T0HTzGz4zbJTnZCwFkSAu6RfCL3ueesMOfJ_cdDMn0h4D8qqC6er2OSDehjRDMbUjWfikZg/s320/90027758.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173984805096275586" /></a><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><br /><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguszsz1C9k1qVz0iHSdoJUf2uDSbETa832e3KY4HW6qB0vPfr-gFB5_HMibdINeCBL2n6oywdPXfmqYbDfaxrPuSRcpH2AtHBFT8BMXbD0rjNCeQBcYk_ckhteU2-W47MfoljOplupoXE/s1600-h/800px-Chocolate_chip_cookies.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguszsz1C9k1qVz0iHSdoJUf2uDSbETa832e3KY4HW6qB0vPfr-gFB5_HMibdINeCBL2n6oywdPXfmqYbDfaxrPuSRcpH2AtHBFT8BMXbD0rjNCeQBcYk_ckhteU2-W47MfoljOplupoXE/s320/800px-Chocolate_chip_cookies.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173983727059484258" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifBs6ZzZYr9VRTUlUu0sfzn2Hm5CJZkHDxsFbRr0vai39oyebnzX3MI7eCwMXX4AryawVSJCZCFsacvybTc5hdyXtGAUTnG6wJSI8jDnhFMyaUdyYAJGNJR16VPIpSe43Vwy36jVAyLr0/s1600-h/AAAAAi6R_hYAAAAAAKVePA.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifBs6ZzZYr9VRTUlUu0sfzn2Hm5CJZkHDxsFbRr0vai39oyebnzX3MI7eCwMXX4AryawVSJCZCFsacvybTc5hdyXtGAUTnG6wJSI8jDnhFMyaUdyYAJGNJR16VPIpSe43Vwy36jVAyLr0/s320/AAAAAi6R_hYAAAAAAKVePA.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173983293267787346" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC2_J1T4z91IkAkJu__yhYPIPKRuxbdUcW9hcPyU8xsnt8xEH2_k9f9B4YCGVgHYG1hP65PeclT2-2jxB_shUgKh1dNDL6CpzWltByqs7xgnJqvWczaoRydnlH8_45g1RKDImW-hmx1uU/s1600-h/images.jpeg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC2_J1T4z91IkAkJu__yhYPIPKRuxbdUcW9hcPyU8xsnt8xEH2_k9f9B4YCGVgHYG1hP65PeclT2-2jxB_shUgKh1dNDL6CpzWltByqs7xgnJqvWczaoRydnlH8_45g1RKDImW-hmx1uU/s320/images.jpeg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173982777871711810" /></a><br /><br /><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>This year for service learning I think that we should go to a middle school and give free dance lessons. I think that it could have been better but what can I say doing a documentary on September 11th which was one of the most tragic events that ever occured was pretty hard. The reason that it was so hard because with all the different information that was put out after 9-11 I really didn't know what information to put in the documentary and what not to put in the documentary.<div><br /></div><div><br /></div>Leighton♥http://www.blogger.com/profile/15579705678811399960noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3344432793645017744.post-30236058242049986462008-02-26T07:07:00.000-08:002008-02-26T07:31:36.049-08:00Frederick Douglass<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFhJV7wRfNIkOVussEhnJSrd8aDLraltFq7wiRpSChKeuYuy0bOtYDrIfDQr74w0rPP_m3j5E_v0cOhBG0gxoilJa-sye3T9L6f6QRrBE4noR5TC3ucN8ZTR-NB_nGc5KkpxyYsAlGWkY/s1600-h/200px-BlasphemyDurer.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFhJV7wRfNIkOVussEhnJSrd8aDLraltFq7wiRpSChKeuYuy0bOtYDrIfDQr74w0rPP_m3j5E_v0cOhBG0gxoilJa-sye3T9L6f6QRrBE4noR5TC3ucN8ZTR-NB_nGc5KkpxyYsAlGWkY/s320/200px-BlasphemyDurer.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5171307234540395890" border="0" /></a><br />BLASPHEMY: (noun) pl. blas·phe·mies<br />definiton:1.
